Introduction and Purpose

Ashford & St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (ASPH or ‘The Trust’) recognises the contribution of all staff in the delivery of its vision to provide an outstanding experience and the best outcome for our patients and the team. Alongside this, there is a need for the Trust to continually plan for future workforce and review our services to ensure that they meet the needs of our stakeholders.

Change can be triggered either by the external environment or by an internal review of service requirements, resulting in either minor changes, or more substantial changes that require a more formal consultation.

Changes to an employee’s working life, despite the magnitude of change, can sometimes cause a level of uncertainty or anxiety. The Trust is committed to creating a positive and inclusive culture of respect for all individuals including staff, patients, their families and carers as well as community partners.

This policy sets out procedures for managing organisational change to ensure that change is handled in a way that is sensitive, consistent, fair and in line with statutory requirements and best practice. This document will outline the processes to be followed when implementing changes of different magnitudes, ensuring that staff are treated fairly and equally in the application of any proposed change.
