This accessibility statement applies to www.ashfordstpeters.info.

This website is run by Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • Older PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen reader software. We regularly replace active content such as patient leaflets. However, historic materials (such as annual reports) may have difficulties with newer products.
  • Some images may be missing alternative text information. Due to the amount of content, we have tried to include this on the majority of images and will continue to improve the pages. These will be included on all future content as standard.
  • Videos are hosted on our YouTube channel and this has the option for additional captioning, In recent years we have added subtitles to our main content. However, specialised content for a limited audience will rely on captioning and this may not be completed accurate.
  • We use PHP for online forms and you should be able to use the TAB key to move between fields.
  • We cannot guarantee that other products will work in the same way. However, we try to follow best practice in this area.
  • We try to support all browsers and these may have additional accessibility options. We cannot ensure the compatibility of older or future versions.
  • Accessibility features on the operating system of the user are supported in terms of the base code. We do not have the facility to test each platform.
